Class of 2021 Top Ten
Blake Krouth, Valedictorian
Parents: Howard and Virginia Krouth
Blake is a member of National Honor Society, has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pin and was a Daily Press Student of the week. He received the National Merit Scholarship and was recognized as a member of the National Rural and Small Town Program. Athletically, Blake played baseball and ran cross country where he earned five varsity letters. He enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding.
After Graduation: Blake plans on attending Michigan Tech where he will be studying Mechanical Engineering.

Isaac Berthaume, Salutatorian
Parents: Tim and Geri Berthaume
Isaac is President of National Honor Society and a member of Key Club and Quiz Bowl. He has also been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pin and was a Daily Press Student of the week. Athletically, Isaac played tennis and was on the swim team and earned three varsity letters. He was awarded the United States Air Force Math and Science Award.
After Graduation: Isaac plans on attending the University of Michigan where he will be studying Chemistry/Pre-Medicine.

Sam Jensen
Parents: David and Kristine Jensen
Sam is a member of National Honor Society, Robotics and Quiz Bowl. He has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pin and was a Daily Press Student of the week. He received the United States Air Force Math and Science Award. Athletically, he was on the tennis team and received his varsity letter
After Graduation: Sam plans on studying Civil Engineering and wants to find a job that allows him to travel.

Emma DeLaire
Parents: Steve and Julie DeLaire
Emma is a member of National Honor Society, President of Student Council and a member of Key Club, as well as a Daily Press Student of the Week. She was on the High Honor Roll and received her academic letter and pin. She received the American Association of University Women S.T.E.M. Scholar Award. She played tennis and golf, earning All-UP First Team for doubles and earning four varsity letters.
After Graduation: Emma plans to attend Northern Michigan University studying pre-med.

Rane Castor
Parents: Clayton and Jessica Castor
Rane is a member of National Honor Society, has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pin and was a Daily Press Student of the Week. He was a 1st team All-GNC basketball player, two time captain of varsity basketball and captain of the tennis team, earning five varsity letters.
After Graduation: Rane plans to attend Bay College and transfer to Michigan Tech to study Civil Engineering.

Cameron Ballard
Parents: Dr. Michael and Pamela Ballard
Cameron is a member of National Honor Society has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pins and was a Daily Press Student of the Week. Athletically, Cameron earned seven varsity letters. He was Great Northern Conference for basketball and football, All-U.P. First Team for basketball and football and All-State Honorable Mention for basketball and football.
After Graduation: Cameron plans to attend Northern Michigan University majoring in Biology

Izzy Van Brocklin
Parents: Rodney and Misty Van Brocklin
Isabelle has been on the High Honor Roll and was a Daily Press Student of the Week. Izzy was awarded the Maroon and Gold Merit Scholarship. She is Vice President of National Honor Society and Vice President of the Key Club and Key Club Division 16 Lieutenant Governor in 2021. She is in drama and choir. She is employed by Menards, receiving Team Member of the Week, Team Member of the Month and Freight Fanatic Award. She earned her letter in choir and received the Senior Choir Medal. She participated in volleyball and softball earning her varsity letter.
After Graduation: Isabelle plans to attend Central Michigan University to study Biomedical Engineering.

Nathaniel Micheau
Parents: Jeremy Micheau and Jennifer Micheau
Nathaniel has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pin, and was a Daily Press Student of the Week. He is the Student Council Representative, a member of National Honor Society, and a member of the Gay Straight Alliance. He also participates in theater.
After Graduation: Nathaniel plans to attend Michigan State University to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine.

Lydia Tembreull
Parents: Roger and Ann Tembreull
Lydia is a the Secretary/Treasurer of National Honor Society and a Student Council Representative. She is Treasurer for the Key Club, a member of the Youth Advisory Committee, Youth Group member at the First United Methodist Church, a Lifeguard at the YMCA. She has been on the High Honor Roll, received an academic letter and pins, and was a Daily Press Student of the Week. She received the Society of Women Engineers Award from Michigan Technological University Chapter. Athletically, she participated in cross country, swimming, and track. In cross country, she was a two time recipient of the sportsmanship award and the most valuable in swimming. She earned nine varsity letters. She also received her music letter, pin, and service bar.
After Graduation: Lydia plans to attend the Pavlis Honors College at Michigan Technological University to major in Mathematics.

Wyatt Madden
Parents: Michael and Alisa Madden
Wyatt is a member of the National Honor Society, has been on the High Honor Roll and received his academic letter and pin. He was also the Daily Press Student of the Week. He participated in cross country and track and was the Snowboard Club Leader. He received four varsity letters.
After Graduation: Wyatt plans on attending Michigan Technological University to study Chemical Engineering.
