Native American Heritage Collection
Our Native American Heritage Collection was originally funded by a grant through the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The display currently features over 275 new books and eye catching display items including a preserved badger, a totem pole framed artwork, handmade baskets and an authentically handcrafted drum. The collection serves as an opportunity for the library to share authentic Native American history and tradition with students, patrons and surrounding communities. The books are comprised of Native American research materials along with informative videos featuring dancing, crafts, ceremonies, and culture.
Special Needs Collection
