March 2008 News

I can’t believe that March is almost here.  Spring will be here before we know it.  Gladstone’s Kindergarten Screening for the Gladstone Preschool will be on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Grace Baptist Church.   I have all of the necessary paper work such as birth certificates, SS #, and immunization records.  The only thing that you may need to bring is an updated immunization record if your child had any shots since the start of preschool.  See you there!

Remember our field trip to Dr. Pfotenhauer’s Office is Wednesday, Feb 27th.  Both classes will attend the morning class (9:00-11:30).  Wear apple shirts.   Please encourage good dental health throughout the whole year.

What a great sledding party we had!  Thank you to so many moms and dads who volunteered to help.  For those of you who ordered Main Street Pizza, we will have them ready for pickup at the Preschool on Wed., Feb. 27.  The money is due on Tues., March 4, 2008.

Send a teddy bear to school the week of March 4th.  March 6th will be our Teddy Bear Picnic.  Preschoolers should come in their favorite PJs and pack a bag lunch.  Also notice our Easter Party on March 20 and our Hawaiian Party on the 27th.  Come dressed in your island attire.  Spring Break will be the following week.

Thank you to the many businesses and organizations that have sponsored a day/week/month of Preschool.  The month of March is sponsored by the Gladstone Kiwanis.  Our Business/Organization Drive has been very successful this Preschool year.

Book orders are due by Wednesday, March 5. Also we are well into our second semester.

March is reading month in Preschool.  Starting March 1st, write down the title of each book that you read with your child.  Send in your list at the end of each week and watch our reading meter grow.  Our goal for March is 500 books for the whole preschool.  Pizza Hut will award us with a free pizza certificate if we make our goal.    If you would like to be a “Guest Reader” in March let me know and we can schedule a time for you to come and read to the class.

Keep Reading and start thinking spring,

Mrs. Austin
