April News

Notice all of the special events in April/May. I cannot believe that this year is coming to an end. The month of April is sponsored by the Delta County Community Foundation. Notice that the week of May 6^th is sponsored by Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad Co. What a great community we live in!

April is also Fitness Month. We just received an $800 grant from the ISD and we purchased a lot of new gym equipment. The preschoolers are enjoying using the new equipment and we will be training for the Preschool Olympics on Wednesday, April 30^th. Both classes will attend the morning class and the Junior National Honors Society from the Gladstone Junior High will come to help out. Parents can come and watch and enjoy the closing ceremony at 11:00. We want to encourage fitness both at preschool and at home so watch for information about 2 weeks of family fitness coming home soon.

Our last book order is due on April 17, 2008. Thank you for the great book orders all year long. Thank you to all who participated in March Reading Month. We surpassed our goal of 500 books. Grand totals will be out soon.

Our Mother’s Day Program will be on Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00 (AM class) and 1:30 (PM class). Please mark your calendar. More details will follow. Our end of the year picnic for both classes will be on Wednesday, May 21^st from 11:00-1:30. The whole family is invited. More details will follow.

Both classes will spend an afternoon at Cameron School on Thursday, May 15^th. We will eat hot lunch, play on the playground, meet all of the Kindergarten and Readiness teachers, meet the principal, and learn about life at Cameron School.
