Help
Make a Difference for our kids!!
How??
PT3 will be having a WORK meeting to make our school
an even better place! We will be breaking into Interest Groups and start
the brainstorming process. We can't make a difference unless YOU are there
to help us out!! (We will not be having a "business" meeting this
month)
What are the
Interest Groups??
1) DANCES - Would you like to plan a dance? Do
you have ideas for how to make
dance-nights enjoyable for more kids?
2) SCHOOL STORE - Do you enjoy shopping and sales? Would you like
to be involved in creating and managing our own BRAVE's store?
3) WINTER CARNIVAL - Would you like to plan the first annual Winter
Carnival for our kids?
4) HOBBY NIGHT Are you a hobby-enthusiast? Would you like to plan a
Hobby Night
Social so our kids (and families) can learn new skills?
5) NEWSLETTERS AND PR Are you available to help label and stuff
envelopes?
6) CAREER PREP Could you help set-up speakers for a career day?
7) POPCORN - The kids enjoy this and a new popcorn popper was purchased last year.
We
need 2-3 people who can work from 9am-2pm 1 or 2 days a month.
What if I can't be
at the December 16 meeting???
Please let us know which committee you would like to serve on!! You may do
this by e-mailing us at the contact address listed.

If you are at Thursday night's 7th
and 8th grade basketball game, please try to stop down when you are
able. We'd love to see you even if
you can only stay for a short time!
Parent- Teacher conferences were
very well attended! Thank-you for
your ongoing support of your child's education!
Did you
know?
Teachers
at GMS are given one period of "Team-Time" per day which can be used
to meet with PARENTS!!! You can
call the school at any time to schedule an appointment. Don't wait for Parent-Teacher conferences to ask that
all-important question or to address that concern

AGENDA FOR DECEMBER 16
Based on the feedback from our first 3 meetings, we are hoping to have a guest speaker for the first 10 minutes followed by a chance to break into committees and begin our work. Committees will be:
1) BRAVE'S store organizational committee- This committee will be responsible for decisions such as buying a display cabinet and deciding what products to sell to the students. This committee will also be responsible for finding volunteers to help run the store.
2) Plan and organize a Winter Carnival - How about a game of golf in say, February??? Get involved and help organize an event for our kids to remember!
3) Newsletter committee - Communication is the #1 goal of this organization. Don't complain that you don't know what's going on in the Middle School...get involved and become part of the SOLUTION! The newsletter has to be published, envelopes labeled, stuffed, stamped, sealed, and mailed.....we could use your help! This is a great committee to be on if you just can't attend one more meeting...many of these jobs can be done at home!
4) 8th Grade Recognition committee (Mr. Slough would like to wait until January to meet with this group)
5) Plan a dance or a social- "When's the next dance?" seems to be a popular question. Dances take time to organize and need volunteer chaperones who are willing to enforce school rules with ALL students. This committee would be responsible for planning just one dance.
6) Plan and organize a hobby night - Fly-tying, knitting, whittling, painting, poetry writing, scrap booking.....what are your hobbies? Set a date and organize this family social night.
7) Popcorn -The kids enjoy this added snack. We need people interested in providing this service to the students!
8) Career Prep -Help plan a career day for the students.
What if I can't be at the December 16 meeting???
Please let us know which committee you would like to serve on!! You may do this by e-mailing us at the contact address listed.
