A book of excuses by kids who use them

Over the last several months of school I have heard many, many excuses as to why you could not read your 15 minutes daily. So, as we begin a new semester I am giving you a chance to come up with your best excuse (or excuses)…Be creative. Then, with all of the best excuses out of the way, be prepared to read your 15 minutes every day!

I couldn't read yesterday because...
I was reading a book while I was eating and I spilled my alphabet soup on the pages and the letters mixed with the words on the page and the words could no longer be read.

I did not do my homework because I forgot to do it

I forgot my folder.
My dog chewed it up.
I lost my folder.

I was sick. My dog ate my paper. I went somewhere last night and I got back late at night. My mom threw it away. I forgot it at school. I don't have any books to read.

I was watching the Packer game and I got poked in the eye so I could not read. It hurt all day long.

My mom was soooo mean, she made me clean the toilets and wash the tub with my toothbrush and scrub the floor with a sock and a raggedy wash cloth. I cleaned everyone's room and do the laundry. Then I picked up all the dirty messes in the yard from the dog. By then it was bed time and my mean, mean mom said "NO READING IN THE HOUSE!" :0)
