Mrs. Farrell's ACCELERATED READER

The first marking period I will require 8 accelerated reader points at a 3.0 reading level.  If students reach this goal their grade will automatically to up on half grade.  If they do not reach this goal their goal will go down one half grade.  Students must pass their accelerated tests with 80% accuracy for the points to count.

The second marking period I will require 10 accelerated reader points at a 3.5 reading level.  Again, their grade will be affected in the same manner.

The third marking period I will require 12 accelerated reader points at a 3.5 reading level.  Grades are affected in the same way.

The fourth marking period I will require 12 accelerated reader points at a 4.0 reading level.  Grades are affected in the same way.

I will inform students and parents several times during each marking period what their point status is.  Please encourage students to pace themselves, not leave everything until the end of the marking period.
