Childs Day in Argentina

Every year, on the 2nd Sunday in August, we celebrate Childs Day in Argentina. We dont know when or how the celebration started but we do know for sure that its a very special day for us, kids.

We receive presents from our parents and the rest of the family: grandpas and grandmas, aunts and uncles. We usually do something special on this day, like eating out or spending the day at an amusement park.

The previous Friday, we have a celebration at school. The Principal and our teachers organize games for us to have fun: a relay race, a Treasure Hunt, or a General Knowledge Competition. We get sweets and lollipops as treats.

In the country, several campaigns to help kids take place: different welfare organizations collect money and toys to distribute on Childs Day among children who are in hospital and those cannot get gifts from their families either because they dont have a family or their families cant afford presents.
