Señora Kenville de Miller’s CLASSROOM RULES
"The attentive ear is the wise person’s joy!"
l. Be polite, courteous and mannerly. Respect yourself, others and school property.
2. Listen attentively to others.
3. Keep your feet under your desk and keep your hands to yourself. Maintain your own space.
4. Sit in your assigned seat and remain in your seat until dismissed by the teacher at the end of class.
5. Listen attentively (brain cells activated).
6. Keep a sense of humor.
7. Be prepared for class work by bringing pencils/erasers,
pens, notebooks, folders, paper, textbooks, and handouts daily. These items may
not be stored in the classroom. Be responsible about transporting your supplies
to and from class.
8. Use good posture.
9. Turn in homework assignments to the assignment box either before or after the bell rings. Store papers in a folder, not inside your textbook. Keep textbook covered.
10. Be responsible about your behavior and your assigned work.
11. Help promote a professional atmosphere around you. ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, DRINK or GUM IN THE CLASSROOM.
12. Courteously ask the teacher for permission to get out of your desk if necessary. Raise your hand and wait. Be prepared for a possible "no" answer to your request.
13. During lesson activities, ask questions that are related to the lesson topic by raising your hand. Unre- lated questions may be asked in between lesson activities or at the beginning or the end of the class period by raising your hand.
14. On the rare occasion when you leave the classroom during the class period, use the sign-out sheet before departing. If you need to use the bathroom, use the language bathroom exclusively.
Consequences for choosing not to follow the above classroom rules are:
1st offense: warning
2nd offense: conference with teacher
3rd offense: call home to parents
4th offense: referral to Mr. Mileski
