Gladstone H.S. Spanish II Students
Michčlle Miller’s Gladstone High School 6th period Spanish II
students recently experienced the custom of cascarones or
eggshells, a custom that was brought from Spain to Mexico long ago. The
students crushed decorated, confetti-filled cascarones over each
other's heads, thereby showering each other with confetti.
Having a cascarón broken over one's head is said to bring good
luck. The students had the opportunity to participate in this custom
thanks to classmates who visited Texas over spring break and where
cascarones are available as part of Texas Easter tradition.
