Reading Buddies

A Reading Buddy is an RSVP Volunteer who meets each Wednesday afternoon with a Cameron first grader to read and write together.  Each September the first graders are matched with an adult.  This pair will meet each week and work on reading skills and writing activities during their reading buddy time.  We are now in our eleventh year of this program and we can see improvements in reading skills and an enjoyment of reading in our first graders.  The relationships that have formed are also a very important part of this program.  If you are interested in becoming a Reading Buddy please call Cameron Elementary at 428-2314.
