Grades

   Dear Second Grade Families,

        Since this may be the first time many of you are looking at a "letter" graded report card, I thought it would be helpful for you to understand the grading system used in 2nd grade.

For most areas, your child will be given a letter grade.

A+  100%            Superb

A    99-94%        Excellent

A-   93-90%        Excellent

B+    89-87%       Very good, above grade level

B     86-84%         Good

B-    83-80%        Good

C+    79-77%        Slightly above average

C     76-74%         Average for this grade

C-    73-70%        Slightly below average for this grade

D    69-60%         Below average for this grade

F    below 60%       Failing

Social Studies and Science are marked:

     O for Outstanding
    S for Satisfactory
    N for Needs Improvement
    U for Unsatisfactory
