Our class is participating in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters in School program.   Each Monday morning students from Mrs. Beranek's high school class come to our classroom to work with us.  Each "big" (high school student) is assigned a "little" (2nd grader).  During this time we work on academics, read books, play educational games, or do an art project.  It's great to have the extra support and attention from the "bigs", and now the kids actually look forward to Monday mornings!

Our class has been reading with Mrs. Ferrai's kindergarten class for reading month.  We have been their "bigs" for the month of March.  We read books and then help the kindergarteners take an Accelerated Reader test in the computer lab.
